On Monday, the court learned phone records and evidence retrieved from phones logged Ms Wandelt repeatedly asking Madeleine's mother for a biological test during that period.

Madeleine's vanishing in 2007 - at the age of three during a family holiday in Portugal - is among the most publicized child disappearance cases and continues to be unsolved.

'I Do Not Need Money'

One voicemail, presented in court, documented Ms Wandelt stating: "I know I'm heavy and plain like Madeleine used to be, but I feel what I feel."

While another instance of Ms Wandelt's recordings with Mrs McCann's recording stated: "Imagine there is a tiny probability that I am Madeleine? What then? Wouldn't that be important for you?"

"I do not need money, I possess a existence here in Poland, I simply desire to understand," the message continued.

The jury was told that through emails, mobile messages and phone calls, Ms Wandelt requested a genetic test, sent early photographs to her phone in a attempt to demonstrate a resemblance to Mrs McCann's vanished daughter, and stated to have "recollections" from a early life with the McCanns.

The investigator, an intelligence analyst with law enforcement who gathered the evidence, informed the court there "showed no any answers" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt also reached out to family friends of the McCanns, according to the call data.

On that date, Gerry McCann responded to a communication from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, declaring she had "incorrect contact information."

That day Ms Wandelt left a recording on Mrs McCann's voicemail declaring "I will continue and I will prove my position."

The court learned Mrs Spragg struck up a relationship through digital means with Ms Wandelt before joining her on a visit to the McCanns' home in the county in December 2024.

Communication data revealed Mrs Spragg had communicated via messaging service to Mrs McCann to say the media had depicted Ms Wandelt as "emotionally disturbed" but that she should be considered genuine in the period leading up to the appearance to the village, Leicestershire, in that winter.

The court heard correspondence between the two defendants, in November 2024, planning trying to obtain Mrs McCann's genetic material from her garbage or from utensils at a restaurant.

"We have to make a stand," Mrs Spragg advised Ms Wandelt.

On the evening of the visit to their home, the defendant dispatched a message which stated: "We're currently sat adjacent to the McCanns' residence with our lights out resembling detectives. I wanted to accomplish this with someone else I hadn't anticipated I would be engaged in this with the McCanns."

The proceedings proceeds.
